PSU BA/MD program?

I got accepted to PSU but rejected from an interview. They mail out the rejections in a thin envelope lol.

tehy didn't even look twice at my letter cuz i misse dthe SAT score by 10 pts.

I got accepted to PSU .. .elberly college of science at U Park but got rejected for that interview thing....:(

oh well ... they only look at sats really for that initial thing... 2/3 of their preliminary decision to give an interview is SATs so yeah.

congrats to those who got their interviews though. :)

ya i heard from someone that the average SAT of interviewees was 1550 or something, which is pretty insane and 1000+ people applied. thats pretty insane, and i do think that they stress the SAT waaaay too much.

damn...that is crazy

a friend of mine got in with a 2100 flat...they took his highest combined score. The first time he took it he got like a 1700...lol. But, he is the president of a few clubs.

what did he get with math and verbal?

The first time he took it, I believe that his combined math and verbal was around a 1200, and the second time it was a 1400. I'm actually quite surprised as to how this kid pulled it off since he's on the verge of failing AP Chemistry.

that's messed up

wow all your stats are so amazing
how do people have time for like 500 hours of volunteering, 4.0 gpa, 2390 SATs, pres of 342545 clubs, varsity sports...

anyway, I never even heard of this six year program until yesterday. I got so interested and ended up here, and I finally realized there's about as much a chance to get in this program as that of an ivy league school....right? I have mostly holes in my stats because I didn't even take the SATs yet... but that I can still change. my rank is probably top 6% (if i try really hard, top 5%), 4.22 weighted gpa from my first two years of hs (but it dropped this year, hopefuly i can get my grades back up), i got 2200 on my PSATs (nowhere near what I'd like my SAT scores to be at)...

my EC's are pitiful. I thought being on a vars tennis team would be good. perhaps co-captain next year (hopefully) and my team won state champs this year. I hate clubs.. and I was always too lazy to go for anything special =( I volunteer some..dont know how many hours (it's certainly not 500.) I tutor, work...enjoy my life sometimes..

my school is so competitive; it annoys me. I swear people once thought that above 4.0 weighted gpa was amazing...now it's like, 4.2..? eh???
If I even get an interview...I'd like to think it'd help me...but I get nervous even thinking about the amount of pressure I'd feel to impress the interviewer...

so is the prospect of getting into psu's ba/md program entirely false hope?

there are a few people with worse stats than i think i'll get..but i don't think they got in. oh yeah, i forgot SATiis.. bio 790, chem 740. i think i can do above 750 for mathiic.

i envy all you who have finished your application process. i already have senioritis...

your solid dude, just don't fall under their SAT req. and you'll have a good shot at an interview....

yea pretty much for psu's med program just get above a 2300 or so and you should be fine (easier said than done but I think you can do it)

When I said fine, I meant get interview. 2300+ and good stats otherwise you'll most likely get interview. The actual cutoff to apply to the program is 1450/1600 though.
After that it's all based upon how well you do at your interview.

Heyyy I just came here in way of one of you guys contacting me about the program specifics and such.

Errr I should probably mention that I'm a first-year in the program - 6 year option.

I hear the interviews are tomorrow...GOOD LUCK to those of you who are on that step!

And even if you didn't receive an interview, I really hope you decide to come to PennState because it is a great place to be.

irene yang told me that 50% of those who are interviewed are accepted. this is so exciting! the program seems so much more amazing after the interview day... good luck to us all! =)

yea, yesterday was pretty interesting. My interviewer was nice but she asked some tough questions.

Hey desianjali, did you go to freehold high school?

LOL VPat06, I AM from Freehold High School....Med/Sci '05!

HOW do you know this?????????

Glad to hear you guys are psyched about the program. Now the anticipation ensues.....I wish you all the best!

when do ppl find out again? april?

cool stuff... med sci '07 (but Vona and Mennuti are both leaving this year)
I just remembered an Anjali in school and I figured chances are that it probably was you... lol. I just had to ask.
