PSU Class of 2022 Decision Thread

@carmen00 we are in VA. He found out about a month ago. I guess we will just check the mail. Thanks!

@ppst I think the concept FTG must be that they are courting the high achievers who also are very interested in PSU, and basing invitation not just on stats, but on early application. A high-stat kid who applies Nov 20 may be seen as less likely to accept an offer as opposed to one who applied Sept 20.

As acceptances roll out, there will be questions about housing and the like. Remember to start new threads for those! And good luck!

Thank you, @greenbutton! I appreciate your insight and will wait until January 31st!!

No decisions recent days?

Hopefully decisions will start coming out this week since it is the middle of the month.

When I log in, it says error and all these codes are there?

@GandPhatty same here

Same

getting same message…

I am also getting that message…

Must mean were are all getting full scholarships :))

HA you must be right lol

I just called their admissions office and they said it is an issue on their end and to check in about an hour.

Web site is working again…

Does anyone think this week we will see a good amount of decisions or not until later on in the month?

My application status went from “Your application has been updated. Please check back soon for a status update.” back to “Penn State is currently receiving a high volume of supporting application materials. Supporting application materials are being processed and recorded on the date received. Please check your MyPennState profile regularly for updates to your checklist items. Once your checklist items are complete we will begin a review of your application” after the portal went back up. I don’t know if the portal having that issue has anything to do with this but they’re really pulling on my heart strings this morning :)) :((

My son…communications sophomore at UP…got a handwritten note on his acceptance.

@MYOS1634 I don’t think that is true. I applied early September and consider myself a high achiever with a ACT of 35 4 5’s on AP exams and 4.6 GPA. I live in state and have many friends that are not as high of achievers with much lower stats that applied the same college that I have and heard back a while ago. Many of these friends applied weeks after I did. I have to believe it is random as they say.

My daughters SRAR is now completed and application is under review. It changed during the day today (was not complete this morning) so maybe they are updating more than once a day now.

@nvsmlm2022 Unfortunately, it just doesn’t seem like that’s the case. FTG is this coming weekend - the top students were all invited weeks ago. That is the purpose of that event. Thus, if you have not been accepted yet, you are not a “top applicant”. That said, you’ll definitely get in, and I’m not sure why you aren’t considered top. But top students were admitted early, allowing them to register for FTG.
