PSU Class of 2022 Decision Thread

@Jhp1599 I am beginning to wonder the same thing? My D has been under review since the end of October? What major did you apply to?

@Sophley Well I’m definitely considering it but it’s not about seeing her. It’s more of a family thing lol long story. But is it possible those people were overqualified?

Congrats to all who heard today. My D is still under review since 6 weeks. she applied DUS and summer option.as we feel her grades are borderline. Hope we hear soon.

@pct3 Many pages back in this thread a poster indicated she called PSU and they told her that the applicant pool for DUS had gotten more competitive this year. Since my son applied to all other colleges with a specific major, he emailed admissions and asked to be considered for Communications instead of DUS. We heard back on 12/16 (He applied in late November). I’m not saying things would have been different had he applied DUS, but it seemed there were several Communications majors that posted acceptances around the same time in December.

@csc0623 @soccermom22 I applied summer session to liberal arts

@Jhp1599 well good luck! I hope you hear soon. My D applied nursing I hope she hears soon. She has heard back from all others but PSU. She just wants to make a decision at this point.

@cac0623 you too! And me too lol. It’s my number one so I’m really nervous!

@ccs0623 ^

Also still under review. Not really worrying because I haven’t seen many engineering decisions and not one aerospace engineering. Does anyone know, is aerospace engineering competitive? 1260/3.7UW

I applied Psych BS Liberal Arts/ DUS. Applied in September, went under review in November with summer option. Of the 4 classmates who heard back, one was early acceptance Engineering, one Nursing and 2 offers of 2and2.
I was the only summer option applicant in my class and have not heard anything at all. Under review yet another day.
Best of luck to everyone. I hope we all get in!

@ronboy72 I think it was a 3.3UW? He goes to a strong public high school in VA. His freshman year was weak and he spent his sophomore and junior year making up for it. His GPA trajectory was strong and I am guessing, despite what others have noted, that they looked at that. His ACT score definitely helped him (30) and his rigor was solid with 5 AP’s and 8 honors. Two sport varsity athlete, leadership, community service, etc.

@Jhp1599 it is my daughters number 1 also. Her GPA was great SAT was a little low for PSU. I have been bracing her for a denial as we knew it was a reach for her with regard to her SAT score.

For those of you that have gotten acceptances in the past 2 days, had you checkin in the morning and had nothing and then it popped up accepted later in the day? Just curious if they are really updating during the day. That would be helpful to know.

@ccs0623 I am the opposite, my SAT is very high but my GPA is lower.

But I am also in state

The site went down early morning and then when went up around noon we was accepted.

@Anxiousmom12 i checked in the morning and the site was down yesterday and i checked again at 12ish and my decision was there

@Jhp1599 my son has the same profile (higher test score/lower gpa) and he was accepted. Good luck!

Got accepted to Penn state Last night.
DUS and summer session.
GPA: 3.2 UW
SAT: 1270
about 18 Hs+AP classes total

So excited because PSU was my #1 school.

My daughter has applied to University Park for Eberly as a Forensic Science Major. She checked Summer and an alternative campus too but we still are waiting under review too. I’m happy to know we aren’t only ones nervously awaiting. I have not seen any Forensic Science majors on here so I am not sure if thats good or bad.
