PSU or OSU for computer science?

So, I am currently at penn state but got in as a transfer to the honors program for computer science at OSU(ohio state). Schreyer (the honors program at PSU) is better, but extremely competitive, and I don't have the credentials to get in. In this scenario, would OSU be more promissing-specially since I want to apply to med/grad school?

In general, psu engineering seems to be higher in the ranking, but would being an honors student at OSU be more advantageous?

What about in terms of reputation, which will provide me with the best education and opportunities?

One last thing, how is the city of columbus? Is living in a urban area more productive than at a colelge town like state college?

Any input in appreciated.

Frasifrasi, you have to visit OSU. It's the only way.

I just want someone's opinion.

Anyone?

You are going to leave PSU and go to OSU based on somebody's opinion? Somebody you don't know's opinion?

This is my opinion. Get your **** over to OSU and see for yourself. You're the one that is going to go to school there.

Listen imbecile, where in my post did you get that i would base my decison on what people here had to say? Do you think we are naive enough to take a random poster says to heart? The point of the college search and selection thread is for students to ask others their opinions regarding certain schools so we can take certain factors we might not have known about into consideration. Perhaps, there is someone here that goes to OSU and who might be able to tell me something about the school. Yes, I will visit the damn place before I decide, but what is the matter with getting people's comment? Everyone benefits from reflecting on other people's perspective. That is the purpose of this forum. Granted, some might be as clueless as I am, but that doesn't mean I am relying on them to make the decision for me.

Now, if you don't have anything better to do with that vacuous little brain of yours, please don't try to lecture me based on idiotic assumptions.

LMAO frasif is right, why the hell are you telling him to spend money on a plane flight, hotel reservations, food, etc, just to go see a college when he can get his answer up here. Not everyone wants to waste money flying around the country when it could be spent on better things.

Edit:

I would stay at PSU for a few reasons:

Penn state has a bit of a better rep, not much.

Parties are wild up at PSU, plus philly and NYC are relatively close.

You will get a good education at both, PSU is ranked higher AFAIK (I believe 47)

If you are a social butterfly, a college town may be better than an urban town where you must actively go out and meet new people rather than everyone being in the same school.

I would stick with PSU if I were you, good luck though wherever man

thanks hyakku. Are you saying psu has a better rep just because it is ranked higher on usnews? Honestly, I have not seen this rep materialize since I got here and the party connotation is really disappointing.

And btw, I actually prefer the city feel rather than the college town scene, where you see students everywhere you look. I can't say about that specific area in columbus, though.
