I'm having trouble deciding between the two.
I want to get into Haas but I'm thinking of doubling in Psych or having Econ+Psych as my backups if I don't get in.

Should I take Psych 1 (Psych prereq + breadth) or AstroC10 (breadth) for fall?
I want to maintain a good course load and good grades. Which is less work? (I'm going to end up taking both anyways)

Oh and my other classes are Econ 1, Math 1A, and Japanese 7A.

Thanks!!

astro c10 is only offered in the fall, so i would take that first. plus, filipenko, the professor that teaches it will make for a great first semester experience. psych 1 is offered every semester and getting in is pretty much guaranteed.

What about ESPM 50AC?

(Sorry, I have too many backup classes haha)

i hear ESPM 50AC is a very good class, and can be relatively easy if you have the right professor. but i think that class fills up really fast. lots of people take it for AC+breadth.

Espm 50 is pretty much full already.

I would go with C10. I’ve heard it’s a really good first semester class, as jb said. And if you’re thinking of doubling Econ-Psych, keep in mind that both of those are capped majors, so your chances of getting into one of those is limited, let alone both.

Yeah ESPM 50AC is packed. I would take Astro C10, unless psych is a breeze for you cuz you already took it in HS.

Astro C10 is 1 or 2 (I forgot) midterms and a final, multiple choice. a few quizzes in discussion, 3-5 labs, and reading questions.

And depending on how academically awesome you are, you can decide to take it P/NP, whereas you shouldn’t take Psych 1 P/NP because it’s a prerequisite.

Thanks guys
I think I’m actually going to stick with my original schedule (Math1A, Anthro2AC, Japanese 7A, and Econ 1). I was going to drop Anthro but Astro has time conflicts with my other classes lol. I’m hoping to take it fall of my sophomore year though :)
