Could anyone whose taken this class please give me more info about it? How hard is it to get an A compared to Engineering classes? Does it require a lot of writing, or is it more memorization? And how is Prof. C. Grayson?

I'm hoping this will be my easy A class for the semester...

Ballpark… top 3 easiest classes I’ve ever taken. All memorization (at least in my class… different prof.). Use ratemyprofessors to look up profs.

It’s been so hard for me to get a working schedule, that I just gave up on looking for a good prof, I just took whatever fit. I’m really glad its an easy class though!

Are the material/tests covered in a class always the same, or can they be different depending on the prof?

Umm you just sign up for classes like anyone else would. Different times are taught by different professors, so just sign up for the section with the professor you want. This is easier said than done though, since I had to rework my schedule like 5 times to get my 18 credits to fit.

Is there a way to see which professors are teaching which classes for next year online or something before I go to orientation? I want to make sure I’m not getting some really tough professor.

Yep, use the LSA course guide or wolverine access to look at classes. Most classes have a professor next to the times they’re taught…I think if it just says “Staff” it’s taught by some GSI.

Malley’s not that bad, except the in class quizzes mean you HAVE to attend lectures since you don’t know when they’ll pop up. Also, if you get Malley, avoid Ann Nguyen as your GSI. Hardest grader out of Malley’s discussion sections.

Time to bring back an old thread. Is Schreier still the best to take for this course? Fall 2011 there is a choice between Grayson, Schreier, Perlmutter and Burson.

Schreier’s section has a waitlist. Do people usually get off the waitlist? If you can’t get off the waitlist, should you take one of the other instructors or wait til spring semester?

Schreier’s class is in large lecture format with no discussion sections. Is this a problem? Grayson has two hours of lecture with two hours of GSI discussion.
