Psych Major Transfer student

hey guys i have orientation tommorow and a friend just informed me the counselors dont even really help or guide you through choosing classes. im transferring in as a junior..i know i need to take Psych100A..but what else? i tried to look it up on the ucla website..and using the DRP but i couldnt understand it/find much..can someone help? and also he told me that i could take no more than 3 classes my first quarter..is this true as well? so i guess the main question i have is..besides psych100A what other two classes should i take to fulfill my major requirements. i am not pre med or pre law or anything..just psych (BA) THANKS SO MUCH!

They will help you with this at orientation. They will give you a list of “the easier psyc” classes we need for our major and they will tell u to choose one from that list (exp: abnormal psyc, developmental psyc, etc) . Then they give u a list of other recommended classes that have nothing to do with your major. However, U can choose whichever class you want for the third choice.( meaning, it doesn’t have to be from the list they give you)

And I just realized your said your orientation is today… So u didn’t really need that answer since you’ll find out soon lol

if the upper div psych core classes are full (like abnormal, social, cognitive, etc.), which they might be at this point, don’t forget that you need to take 4 psych “electives” (which means ANY upper div psych class).
