Hi anyone who goes to or knows about CMU, I got into CMU H&SS, and I have a question about the school. I am planning on majoring in neuroscience wherever I go, which is still up in the air. I know CMU is known for strong engineering and compsci, but how is it for Psych and neuroscience compared to Rochester and Brandeis, two other schools I'm considering. Thanks!

Well, CMU does not have neuroscience per se…it’s has psychbio in H&SS and biopsych in MCS. Like many programs at CMU, there is a big computational focus (and in psych, a lot of AI work is done), but they are generally good programs, from what I understand. Not sure about Rochester/Brandeis. (Just FYI, I’m an engineering student, though)

Alright great, thanks for the input. That’s good to hear. Anyone else whose involved in Psych at CMU would be great, or anyone who knows something about the dep’t

Anyone else? I’m not finding anything persuasive any one way from what I’ve read about these three schools
