Psych15: Intro to Psychobiology

Has anyone here taken the class before? If so, how generous is the final grade curve? I'm really struggling with the material and I'm scared I'm going to fail the class since I basically bombed the midterm.

I took it last year with Krasne and Grijalva (sp?). I don’t know what the format is like this year, but last winter there were three non-cumulative exams. The first one most people did pretty good on (I got a B), but EVERYONE bombed the second midterm (I think I got a D on that one). I did some hard core studying for three days before the final and got a high A, and I still managed to pull off an A for the class. (And if the format is the same as last year, I thought the final was actually the easiest of the three exams.) I think the curve must have been pretty generous since I still got an A after pretty much failing the second midterm (last year your grade was based on however many points you had at the end of the class).

Thanks so much for the response.

The format is different this year. We had one midterm for everything Krasne taught, and we’re having a cumulative final with everything the other professor (Zaidel-who is is impossible to understand) taught along with some stuff from the midterm.
For the midterm, the median score was around 63% and nobody got an A.
How many people actually fail the class in the end?

And do you have any advice on how/what to cram? All I’ve done are the practice quizzes and the study guide, but my lecture notes are awful since I barely understood a word from Zaidel’s lectures.
