Hey! Im starting college this year and i picked as a major psychology and im planning on taking premed courses as well in order to get into med school later. Do u think its a good idea? Because everyone tells me that bio is the best major when it concerns premed...

There is no “best” major for pre-med. Medical schools do not prefer one major over another. You can literally major in just about anything and so long as you fulfill admission requirements (which vary from school to school–so be aware of that).

Many pre-meds select biology as major because it has significant overlap with med school admission requirements.

Neither biology nor psychology offer particularly good post-graduation employment prospects should you not make it into med school.

Actually, I think biology as a degree offers more career options than psychology should med school not work out. My son’s backup plan is to be a physician assistant and that should transfer more easily with biology.

^^ Doubtful. Except for requiring a GRE instead of MCAT, PA academic pre-reqs are nearly identical to med school pre-reqs. Grad entry PA programs do expect more hands on experience, though.
