Is it common or unusual to major in Computer Science and minor in Psychology? I want to do that and I read it's good if I want to specialize in artificial intelligence. I also like Psychology a lot (self-studying the course right now).

There is an intersection between AI and Psychology, but common to combine these? No.

If you are interested in psychology, by all means take some courses, but you don’t necessarily need to minor, as a psych minor many involve taking coursework that is not relevant, such as abnormal psychology (unless you are planning on inventing HAL).

Psychology would also be useful for human-computer interaction.

In both cases, a psychology background would be particularly useful for interdisciplinary research for a PhD, but undergrad CS will barely scratch the surface in AI or HCI.

Human factors involves both CS and psychology. I don’t think the combination is common, but if you are interested, it is worth investigating.

I don’t think it would be all that common, but it would be a good idea. Much of the ‘value added’ in a CS program is the software engineering aspect (since straight programming is done by students in lots of majors). Managing large software projects means getting people to work together, building the right incentives, maintaining documentation, etc. and I can see a psychology background being helpful.
