hey, thanks for reading first of all. second of all, i'm a high school junior who is trying to get some college research done early. i've decided what i want to do, now i just want to know how to decide where to go. i'm interested in SUNY Albany and SUNY Stony Brook, and i want to be a psychiatrist in the long run. what i'm wondering is if anyone could tell me what the better school would be? my high school is very college-oriented, so i'm already looking at open houses, writing my college essay, preparing for personal college visits, you get the idea.
anyway, could someone tell me which school is better for psychology and has a better pre-med program?
thank you SO much ! and thanks again for reading (:

you’ll be fine at either, both have some fantastic pysch profs. by the way, just because you want to be a psychiatrist doesnt mean you have to major in psych- as long as you get your premed pre-reqs in, you can major in whatever you want. you dont specialize until your residency when you graduate med school…

thank you ! i was thinking of double-majoring bio and psych, but thanks so much ! one more question, what about SUNY Buffalo?

^ you will be one of a frillion at stony brook with a major in either bio or psych, and one of a million with a double major in both. in order, i’d go with buffalo, stony brook, then albany. all have really different feels though - i highly recommend visiting.

great, i was hoping for buffalo anyway. thank you so much everyone (:
