Psychology

Anyone know how strong Emory's psychology department is? Also, does anyone know how many of the psychology students go to grad school?

Emory’s psychology department is strong, and includes a number of faculty that are regarded as leaders in their respective areas of scholarship. There are a handful who are also among the university’s most talented teachers (e.g., Drs. Duke, Nowicki, Edwards, and more).

If you are a good student, and if you get involved in a productive research lab early on, admittance to graduate school should pose no problem. I did those things, and when I graduated (13 years ago), I had my pick of the very best doctoral programs. I ultimately chose Duke, over some higher ranked programs, because of goodness-of-fit. I had a wonderful experience there, too, but look back most fondly at my time at Emory.

The resources at Emory are tremendous, and afford its students opportunities that are limited by only their own initiative or imagination.

Emory Psychology is really good, I never even knew about it but some of their profs are AMAZING. I had Duke for a freshmen seminar and hands down he was the best teacher I’ve ever had. I also had Edwards and he is the 2nd best teacher I’ve ever had (next to Duke).
