Purchase callbacks?

I had heard in the past that Purchase pulled out a camera and filmed you at Unifieds to sort of replace their "callback" process on campus. Was that true this year? I auditioned in LA and wasn't filmed, so I would just go ahead and assume that this means I am not being considered except that I don't recall seeing film equipment anywhere, nor were we ever informed that this was even a possibility...I may not have seen any because I was too preoccupied however. Just wondering if anyone was filmed this year.

D wasn’t filmed but there were callbacks-- those called back may have been filmed. BUT, she auditioned at Purchase so there were many current students there, about half of whom said they had not been called back or filmed at their auditions last year.

My son auditioned in New York and received his rejection on Friday. He expected it because he wasn’t filmed. The girl before him left the audition and they literally chased her down the hall to have her come back in the room to videotape her. I can’t say other than our experience, but it looked like they were videotaping in New York for sure.

They filmed one of my pieces in Chicago.

TXtransplantmom how did your son receive his rejection? E-mail, by letter?
I don’t want to seem rude… Just curious.

He got a thin, form letter in the mail. We actually appreciated hearing SOMETHING. He hasn’t heard either way from anyone else at Unifieds…

As a Purchase student in the BFA program who auditioned in LA, I was filmed. But I know of a person in my company who wasn’t filmed and got accepted, probably because they unanimously agreed he belonged in the program.

Are there on campus callback?
