Purchase College

Hello everyone, I'm kinda new to this website but luckily stubbled across it through googling info on Purchase College. I have a few questions though that I hope someone could help me with...

What is the campus like?
where do freshmans dorm?
is there any type of greek life on campus?
besides shows performed by the arts program, what else is there to do?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Some people feel that the campus is somewhat dreary because the buildings look sterile and the campus doesn’t have much charm, but having read how bad the aesthetics were, after visiting the school, I didn’t think that the campus was particularly ugly. The buildings are fairly close together and easy to walk to. There is a construction project going on now which should help make the school more attractive, and fix the loose bricks in the sidewalk. The freshman dorm together in either doubles or triples. Some of the rooms are in suites. The freshman dorms looked decent and the upperclassman dorms are new and nice. There is no greek life on campus. There are several clubs and the performing art students put on frequent shows. From what I understand, there is plenty to do during the week, but the weekends may lack a lot of activities. However, since the school is near NYC, it affords many possibilities for entertainment and culture.

^^ But remember that excursions to NYC can be VERY expensive, especially for those who do not have family there offering meals, wheels and occasional cash.
