Purchasing books online

Hey guys...I'm getting some scholarships and loans...so if I purchase a book through amazon, will I be reimbursed for that? I imagine I would have to bring a reciept to the FAO and they will give me a check or something like that?

Hey do u know where you can check what textbooks are needed for the classes coming up this fall? I may want to try and make some online purchases only, but I don't know where to go to see what books I need for the class.

<a href="http://www.uclaestore.com/ucla/textbook_student.asp?ref=ucla%5B/url%5D">http://www.uclaestore.com/ucla/textbook_student.asp?ref=ucla</a></p>

just type in your UID and you're "good to go"

Here's how the whole financial aid thing works. You accept whatever aid you get on your eFAN. Then about a week or two before the quarter starts, the money for that quarter is sent to your BAR account, where it is used to pay your school fees. Once those are paid, any leftover money is sent to you either via check or (if you have BruinDirect) transferred directly to your checking account.

From there you can spend it on anything you want (books, rent, etc)

is it possible some courses dont have any supplementary material?

Question: Is there any real difference between the international student edition of a book and the normal US edition?

hey, if i buy books from amazon, will ucla buy them back from me or do they only buy books from students who bought them from the student store?

you have to buy the books from the student store to have them buy it back because they will check your receipt. oh and international editions are crappier than us editions haha.

"you have to buy the books from the student store to have them buy it back because they will check your receipt."

are you kidding me? they expect us to save the receipts for the whole quarter?

How are the international versions worse? I would expect them to be roughly the same material inside both books. Does the international version teach different stuff or something?

International Editions are EXACTLY the same cover to cover. The may be the same quality-wise, may be even better or worse. The only differences are the front covers (which usually denote International Student Edition) and the ISBN numbers. The content is unchanged.
