if you haven’t gotten updated does that mean a rejection?
Thanks for posting news that decision is out. We were anxious as son did not list a second major. In fact, he emailed admissions and asked how to do re-evaluation if denied but haven’t heard back as they are “experiencing a high volume of emails”.
Just checked portal – accepted FYE. Applied to mechanical engineering (to all schools), oos, Asian male, ACT35, GPA3.95, competitive private school which does not offer any AP, took AP Chinese and Physics 1 on his own, both 4’s, a variety of EC’s ranging from varsity/club sports, martial arts black belt, to research, plane making club etc. but nothing super high awards.
First college acceptance, very excited!
Seems like it is happening for OOS right now.
Not necessarily, I think acceptances are still trickling in.
Our son got accepted to BioMedical sciences with $10K annual presidential scholarship (is this common?)
3.9 W GPA Private school–challenging school
1400 SAT
Many extracurriculars - UVA research, Started Medical Club, Shadowing at Free Clinics, …
We’re so proud of him.
said after 5 but everyone seems to be getting them
Congrats!
OOS Daughter accepted to Business and Honors Program. No merit listed on acceptance letter.
No, merit awards are very hard to come by at Purdue. Congrats to your son!
Sadly, I got deferred for Computer Science. Does anyone know how likely my chances are of an acceptance?
Congrats! So no matter what major (in engineering) you specified when applying, the students will be accepted into FYE first?
Yes, that is correct. The transition to major process happens at the end of their second semester.
Denied, OOS CS. Knew it would be a tough admit, so no surprise.
Looks like if you had to wait till 5 you got denied
That’s what they say but one still has to indicate the specialty area interested. For some of the other colleges, he can list two majors in engineering.
S23 just got the accepted decision at around 4:30 EST, Political Science major, oos, no merit mentioned.
My son was deferred for his first choice major. Did your letter say deferred for first choice and admitted for second choice?
RD is a very tough admit, especially for popular majors like CS. That said, you were a strong enough applicant to not get a denial so you never know. Good luck to you!
What is your 2nd choice major? Mine too, CE, not CS.
My son just got accepted to the Polytechnic Institute for Aviation (Professional Flight)!! We are OOS.
