Push her or keep my mouth shut?

Just popping in to say that my daughter did agree to do the scholarship interview, and she thought it actually went pretty well. She was terribly nervous going in, but they were kind to her and the questions weren't difficult ones. She actually felt good about it afterwards!

In retrospect, I realize that these interviews are probably at least as much about getting top candidates to actually visit campus & bond as they are about evaluating them for how deserving they are of the scholarships. The college really went to a lot of effort to take good care of the prospective scholarship kids and show them a good time.

So glad that I took your advice here and convinced her to give it a try.

Thanks for the update. Best of luck to your D, and pat on the back to her for stepping up to meet the challenge of interviewing.

Another CC success story!

Thanks for the update.

Push her to do it. You know the saying: if she doesn't try, the answer will definitely be "no". She does have to learn to bite the bullet and do such difficult things in life. Practice with her or have someone work with her, but don't give up the possibility f all that money because she isn't comfortable interviewing.

Okay, timing was off there. I see you've since posted that she gave it a try. That is awesome. Congratulations! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both.

Congratulations, whether your D wins the scholarship or not!
