How good is UCSD's engineering program compared to Cal (I know, that's my dream school which I'm not too confident about...), UC Davis, and UCI (I got Regents there, so it's pretty appealing)? Like would going to UCSD result in a better job or a better grad school (in general)? I'm kinda deciding between UCSD, UCI and UCD if I don't get in Cal. BTW, I plan to transfer to Electrical Engineering, even though I got in as Computer Engineering. Thanks!

But according to the specific Engineering rankings, UCSD is 14th for EE, whereas UCLA is 15th, and the others aren't on the list... this is confusing.

UCB is #2. :)

There won't be any difference between 14 and 15, but there will be between 2 and 14

But that would depend on me getting accepted first. I applied to Berkeley under Computer Science, but I plan to transfer to EECS though (that probably won't be a cakewalk though...).

Collegemom, do you think you can do me a favor and post the rankings for University oF washington for Engineering (general) and computer engineering. If you can, that would be great.

NViejeP anything for you. :)

general engineering rank #20
computer engineering rank #12

shortduderay did I misunderstand your initial question of how is UCSD ranked compared to Cal?

UCSD numbah 2 BIOE!!!

wooo....

bioengineering is not ABET accredited and it is very hard to find employment though. :(

UCSD's bioengineering is accredited.

You are right.

A ranking of 14th out of all of the universities in this ranking category translates to a highly regarded program. UCSD is pretty well known for their engineering programs (as is Cal). Most of the other UCs are pretty highly ranked as well.

Most UCs program are accredited.
