is the equivalent of taking 26 quarter units supposed to be the same rigor as someone taking 26 semester units because the quarter is twice as fast as the semester?...i know that 4.5 quarter units = 3 semester units, but i just wondered if thats what it is supposed to be like

come on there should be a lot of people from cc's on here!

I think that the course difficulty is about the same for both systems. The difference would be that less material will be covered in a quarter than in a semester. Additionally, quarter courses usually have two exams (midterm and final), whereas in a semester you could have more exams. I hope I answered your question.

well i meant like if ur taking 26 quarter units of classes would that be as much as taking 26 semester hours? because u have 4 quarters and only 2 semesters? compared to only 15 semester hours and 15 quarter hours, if u did that ud end up with the same amount of 30 semesters hours for both total

actually you only have 3 quarters (not counting summer since Semester system has that as well)

15 quarter units = 15 semester units in courseload

1 semester unit = 1.5 quarter units because tehre are 3 quarters and 2 semester in a year

i know that...but i meant is taking like 26 quarter hours considered a ****load for being at a CC? most people i know only take like 12-15 quarter hours...

it's heavier than usual

but it's around the same as a high school courseload
