Quesiton on Honors

First time forum...

What's the difference between the academic honors and EC honors? What if the EC honors are academic?

For example, in Texas we have the University Interscholastic League. For this I have 2 state accomplishments, which are in academic competitions. Where do I include this?

What about for Music. I made All-State band, and have excellent and superior performance ratings for two years at a state solo competition. These probably go under EC, but I just want to make sure.

Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks! ;)

Oh, and if this has already been asked you can post the link to the thread, just that I feel a little lost here right now.

Music should go under EC, the interscholastic league under academic. Here’s an useful article MIT admissions published a few years ago that some students find helpful:

Scholastic vs non-scholastic, EC vs academic, you get the idea. Hope that helps!
