I copied this template from somewhere else, this is all the info i’m willing to give, I go to an extremely competitive magnet school that offers IB and AP courses so I take a mixture of both.
Those were my stats when submitting app, as of now my rank is 14/312 and my gpa has improved a bit
@098tarik Congrats! I follow you on Instagram and saw it lol.
@HelloThereHola Nice, did you apply also?
@098tarik Yes, I applied to be a College Prep Scholar but I dont know if I applied to that specific program. I got accepted into LEDA though!
Awwww man. I wish my school offered all those APs and IBs. Welp, I could only hope for the best. Thanks, @098tarik. You deserved it!!!
@HelloThereHola Cool! I didn’t get accepted to LEDA I felt like I did not put as much effort into that application, I did not enjoy their application platform either
@HERCULES_HERCULES Colleges/QuestBridge look at if you have taken the most difficult courses AVAILABLE AT YOUR SCHOOL. I think if we have done just that, we will be fine.
@098tarik I agree… it seemed a little archaic too. Questbridge definitely has the better application and also gave more opportunities to tell about yourself. Did you receive a rejection letter? Or have you just not gotten an interview?
@HelloThereHola I did get a rejection letter, I didn’t feel too bad about it cause I had a ton of other programs to fall back on. I value this much more because of higher chance of getting into College Match
@theboyoverthere Many people tell me that, but sometimes I still feel inadequate when I hear about others who do take those courses.
@HelloThereHola, if you got LEDA, you probably got QB.
Hi guys, the wait is killing me! Just wondering how each of you heard about QuestBridge? I have probably missed several other opportunities as I go to a private Christian school and they don’t help at all with anything low-income or scholarship related. (Just admissions - but no one ever goes to anything ‘elite’. I’m on a scholarship there and one of the only low-income students so I am having to uncover opportunities on my own. I found QB just by researching opportunities on the internet. So how did you guys learn about it?
@Southern5062 I’ve been on this site so long that I started hearing about Questbridge over and over again. Honestly thought it was a scam, but going on the website made me really see how life-changing it can be. I didn’t hear about the Junior program until a little later and was so excited when I found out about the free college visits.
@Southern5062 My english teacher from freshman year told us about the college match, and from then on I just knew about qb
I heard about QB in the same way you did @Southern5062, but I found it in the fall of my sophomore year. At that time I obviously was eligible for anything, but I created an account and started the NCM app because I was unaware of this.
Thanks guys ! That’s all good to know. I sure wish Gates Millennium Scholarship was still around. My sister is a Gates scholar and graduating college in May. She was able to go to any university in the country, and they also send her a check each semester for living expenses. She is now applying for Grad School and they are paying that too (they only pay for certain majors - but for the right major, they will cover your Masters and even Doctorate.) Gates was a 20 year program that ended in 2016. I SOOOO wish that was still around! But I am hoping QuestBridge will come through for me. I am so grateful for the opportunity - as I know we all are.
@Southern5062 Someone told me that they are starting it up again, idk if that is valid or not
