@Southern5062 Dont lose hope! https://ngocnhile.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2016/01/13/2016-was-the-last-chance-to-apply-to-the-gates-millennium-scholars-program/
@098tarik and @solarsystem Thank you! I actually saw that one article last year - but since then, I have looked and looked and have never seen anything else. I even emailed the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation but never got a reply. Let’s all hope they do come out with a new one!
@Southern5062 I actually heard about Questbridge because they sent me both an e-mail and actual mail regarding the College Prep Scholars program.
Does Questbridge superscore out ACT/SAT when we apply for the National College Match? Is ACT/SAT required?
@098tarik Has you Questbridge webpage changed?
@univbound101 No because official decisions for all have not come out.
@098tarik My Login Page look just the same Shows date I submitted application and the Checklist. Has it changed for you @098tarik ?
I just realized… April has 30 days. It’s basically the 16th right now. That’s the second half of April, meaning that decisions are very, very soon.
I’m excited, honestly. Whether I make it, or don’t, it’s still a (temporary) end to the frantic email checks.
@theboyoverthere I’m pretty sure both aren’t required, but you need to take at least one. That’s standard college policy, unless we’re talking about “test-optional” colleges (which can still ask for SAT subject tests). Either way, most people should take either the SAT or ACT to be competitive.
Also, I’m pretty sure Questbridge doesn’t have much to do with National College Match. In my knowledge, QB chooses Finalists, and partner schools look at the Finalists separately.
Check the superscore policies for the specific schools you’re looking at; they can vary school to school.

@lensonoda You’re so right! I’m trying not stress it.
@lensonoda The thing I am wondering is, does QuestBridge supercore ACT/SAT when choosing finalists?
They usually release decisions on Friday, so for this year, it is either the 21st or the 28th!
@lensonoda They continually say that they take a holistic view of the total candidate and my thought is that means scores as well. I’ve never seen anything stating that they Superscore, but get the impression they do look at your ‘best efforts’ in everything then fit that into the context of the bigger picture. Compared to colleges that place a “very heavy emphasis” on scores, they are much more interested in ‘strength in various areas’ and what you have overcome / challenges you have faced. They continually downplay the need for candidates to get super stressed about their highest of all scores. Just ‘show them what you’ve got’. They’ll see all of them, including the highest ones, and may even look at it like - wow, he / she really improved on this one.
@theboyoverthere I doubt it will be the 28th. They typically gravitate towards the 22nd, but that is a Saturday this year. So I think the 21st or if not a little earlier or possibly the Monday after this one.
I really I hope it’s not the 28th, that’s my birthday. lol
@HERCULES_HERCULES It’s either be the best birthday you’ve ever had or a really sad one.
@theboyoverthere I have daydreamed about it going both ways. If it is released that day, I just won’t look at it until the next day. lol. I’m surprised nobody started up the college and testing talking yet. How did you guys do on SAT or ACT? Which one do you prefer? What schools are your top choices?
I am currently taking AP courses, courses at a community college, and STEM courses at a boarding school I’m in (online program). I hope those increase my chances.
@HERCULES_HERCULES I’m taking the ACT next Wednesday (didn’t study and prepared to take an L). I got a 1490 on the SAT. My #1 school is Pomona followed by Brown and Swarthmore. I want to major in a STEM-related field with the flexibility to pursue other interests.
