@francescawoodm
I think it means that you are, at least, a college prep scholar. Congrats!
This is a quote from last year’s Questbridge Prep Scholars CC chat from last year; this was given 8 days before decisions were released:“I got an email back from Yu-Ree from Questbridge, and she stated that the Notre Dame summer program would give an email response back beginning of next week. I’d look out for emails from other programs beginning after that Notre Dame program, they might be given out starting next week.” As I said, decisions were given about a week and a half after nominations were released. #keephopealive
Status: Didn’t apply to Notre Dame Program, so no news yet

@CMKingOfFl Should we start posting our stats now?
@HERCULES_HERCULES As far as testing, ACT seemed to be a breeze to me up until the science section. I screwed myself on math for both tests by taking it while in Precal instead of right after Algebra 2, but the 31 was sufficient for me not to have studied. I am taking the June ACT and will study this time and I think I will Max at 34.5 (which gives you an overall score of 35) and Min at 33. I expect I will at least improve the science to a 30-32 just because I know what the section is like and will get 2 or 3 more questions right. As far as Math, I hope to get 4 or 5 more right and get to a 30-32 as well. ACT will definitely be my leading score as far as college applications. SAT I will try to get to the 1400’s but I wont count too much on it. Everyone’s different so don’t worry too much, you just gotta figure out which test you like better. My Uni shortlist is Harvard, FSU, UF, Yale, Stanford, and UCF/Princeton. Intended Major is either political Science, Pre Law, or Psychology
@Naperthrill Idk, I just saw someone ask about stats so I posted mine in case anyone wonders where they stand, and to give a projection for applicants next year because it was hard for me to find stats of applicants this year. But yeah I think we can. Supposedly results will be out within the next week so we can just edit the post with our stats with whether we’re accepted or not.
EDIT: Nvm we only get 15 Minutes to edit our post, so maybe we should hold off until acceptances to post stats
I’m like a person with good scores(ACT: 34, three 800s in SAT subject, three 5s and one 4 in AP) but suck at writing essays, have few leadership skills bc I’m extremely shy. What do you guys think? I really want to get into this program so I can get essay coaching.
@HappySquirrel
Excellent scores indeed. Congrats!
@HappySquirrel Woww that’s a great record!
Did you watch the QuestCast on writing a good essay? Maybe explain your problem with essays in the additional info section as well.
Fancy titles aren’t everything. I think they’re preferred because they’re a concrete way of showing productivity. As long as you have used your interests to help others in some way, or participated in / created something interesting, I think you’ll be fine.
@lensonoda Oh yes! I watched the QuestCast. That really save my life! I wrote my biographical essay according to their tips and I think I improved A LOT. But I’m not so confident about my short essays. I couldn’t say too much with just 100 words.
I watched the QuestCast, but I still struggled with the whole detailed writing part because of the word count. I have mixed feelings about my biographical essay. I feel confident sometimes, but other times I don’t.
@HappySquirrel what did you write about? If it is not too personal.
@HERCULES_HERCULES
I’m really good at writing but my stats are very bland.
I know you didn’t directly ask me, but for my bio essay I started with a quote, then gave really summarized details of my life while also talking about their impacts on my character. I used this to lead up to my passion, and concluded it with stuff I learned so far.
Btw, oh my looorddd guys. I’ve been getting emails to apply for the Stanford intensive law thing (way before questbridge) and got an email from them today.
UGHHH.
I thought I was nominated but it turns out it wad just the program telling me my "deadline " was extended. Not on QB’s part.
So mad but laughing hard rn.
@AlmightySadist It’s okay. Hearing from anyone is helpful. I am a pretty skilled writer, I just feel my essay lacked the zest that QB was looking for in writing. I also made a couple of errors on my application.
I looked at my application proof, and I made some big errors, especially on my summer program essay. I do not think I have good chances of winning it. :((
Y’all I’m getting anxious about QB results. I want to visit Pomona soo bad. Just found $50 plane tickets to LAX from Texas and back. If this isn’t a sign… [-O<
@univbound101 I’ve emailed them about my errors, they said that minimal errors do not really affect review decisions. I believe that to a degree, but I feel that somebody reviewing your application may feel like you rushed it and you didn’t work hard.
@hamlon Lol. I’m sure everybody is anxious, but at this point, we can only live our lives. I have a lot to do this week, so I just want them to release it and get it over with.
