Hi,
I was wondering in the financial information section I'll be at a disadvantage if I choose the option "I am unable to discuss financial information with my family, but I confirm that it is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge"

This is because my dad feels sensitive about his business and family's financial matters.

But, I'm not sure if it is a legitimate reason and if it won't hurt my chance.

Also, if I say that our family has accumulated lots of debt because of my dad's business would it hurt my chances as well? Because, debt not looked upon well and I might be labeled as untrustworthy because of it.

i dont think it’ll hurt your chances :)

No top school is going to provide you with financial aid unless you provide them with endless details on every dollar of your family’s finances, including tax returns and asset statements. The CSS Profile in particular is not unlike an examination by an unfriendly proctologist. So while Questbridge itself won’t need any financial documentation, any school that you apply to via Questbridge will before they offer you a financial aid package.

If your family owns a business, be aware that the financial aid offices will review all business deductions and disallow those they feel are accounting gimmicks.

I think you should convince your father to allow you to put down all of the financial information–especially if his business causes debt. I do not see how your parents’ debt will cause the QuestBridge to label you as untrustworthy. :P
