Wow. I wrote mine on the day of the deadline, and structured it in reverse chronological order–like, I began with my latest achievements, and how the drive to accomplish those things started with the hardships I faced in my childhood.
The prompt is strange, I had a tough time writing it the first time for the other program. I’m sure theres no “correct” way to do it, they’re just looking for some background info in narrative form rather than like bullets on a resume/in additional info.
My essay wasn’t about struggling in my childhood at all. Should I be worried now?
@XoXdreamerXoX What was it about? How did you structure it?
@CeruleanShadow
Deciding that I wanted to take advantage of all of the opportunities I got and took AP starting freshman year. I talked about how it’s changed my life in giving me important character traits and new ambitions and how I come from an environment where taking AP makes you weird.
I structured it in chronological order from freshman year to now.
The email for last year’s College Prep Scholarship notification was sent on April 22, 2014.
Oh crap too early not ready for this
Do you guys know if being a college prep scholar actually increases your chances in getting matched next year??
On the FAQ, it said something along the lines of it can help you to become a Finalist, but that’s not guaranteed. I assume some partner colleges would give the award some weight, but it doesn’t seem like a make or break kind of thing.
HELP
On my qb application profile, it says that my app was submitted, and everything was recieved. But I never got an email from qb saying “congratulations, you have completed the application”… should I be concerned???
Sorry bout that. … it was in my spam mail
Hey guys, does anyone know the exact date that results are coming out?
Yeah I was wondering the same thing, Questbridge is the last scholarship/program that I’m waiting to hear from
They released last year’s results on April 22, let’s hope that they release them on the same date this year. If it is so, then we’re only about a week away.
On the Questbridge FAQ, it states they release decisions on “early May”
@Iamquiteloud. On the FAQ, it states that applicants will be notified BY “early May”, not necessarily on “early May”; which means that they could release the notifications before that date.
On the home page, in a section titled “Announcements,” it says:
“The 2015 College Prep Scholarship application is now closed. Thank you for your hard work. Decisions will be released in late April.”
Excellent news, @alooknac. Let’s hope they release them in this coming week.
I emailed them a day ago and here’s the response I got, seems automated however so it may have just gotten it out of the FAQ considering the front page says late april.
Dear ny2020,
Award notifications for the College Prep Scholarship will be released by early May. You will receive an e-mail informing you that your application status can be viewed on your Application Management page.
Kind regards,
The QuestBridge Team
Go to their website. It says they’ll be released late this month.
