+++I have letter of recommendation letter from the mayor of my town, and from my church++++(very legit)

Don’t doubt my essays, I lived 3 years of my life in a single room when I came to America…it was a crazy story of how where overcame…

Gracias y que Dios los Bendiga…

P.S. I am undocumented, but the residency papers are in progress…

@drumwriter
Why, yes I am! My friend (who was matched with Yale) reused his essays and everything seemed to turn out great for him!

@Markkinho
“We require two teacher recommendations and one counselor recommendation for the National College Match Application. We prefer that the teacher recommendations come from teachers who have taught you in core academic subjects and who represent two different subject areas.” You were taught by your mayor and church…?

Yale and Stanford require for an applicant to select “Regular Decision” on the common app. Princeton does not indicate which to select. Does anyone know which one to select for Princeton?

@Cryrogenics Sorry, I forgot to mention that…I have a counselor rec (normal), and two teacher recomendations (one of them is the High School Head - history teacher as well) and the other is an English teacher (his recommendation is personal, because I went through a dilemma with him, and gaining his trust again was arduously difficult, but now we have an even better relationship…and my grades in his class we’re impeccable - I’ve stayed at his house sometimes for fun, too)…

That has to be a ■■■■■. Someone can’t be trying to convince themselves of something that bad.

@Markkinho
How are there only 38 people in your class… There are over 400 in mine and my school isn’t even that large

Yale and Stanford require for an applicant to select “Regular Decision” on the common app. Princeton does not indicate which to select. Does anyone know which one to select for Princeton?

@crygogenics its a private all boys boarding school…extremely selective…i also talked in one of my essays how I struggled to live hundreds of miles from my home and heritage…there is nothing I can do that there is only 38 peeps in my class … :(

Don’t doubt my essays, I lived 3 years of my life in a single room when I came to America…it was a crazy story of how where overcame…

You mean your private school’s dorm room?

For college match finalists do you have to submit FAFSA forms to your ranked schools? Caltech, for instance, states on questbridge that an applicant needs to send a CSS Profile and financial information as prescribed by the cover sheet. However, their website states that FAFSA is also required. Do you need to do FAFSA for each school too?

@cryrogenics umm…no my whole family lived in a one bedroom apartment when I first cam to America and we were broke…through overcoming that…i did good in school and got a scholarship to the private school I currently attend…but apart from that I really hope that you become a finalist and go to ur top school :)

@ Markkinho
Cynicism asked you that question :s not I… but thank you, and good luck to you too

Suppose I have ranked three different universities, and I decide not to apply to the first two, and instead send my supplementary materials to only the third university, will QuestBridge still send my application to the third university if I become a finalist? Will I become disadvantaged in any way?

Hey guys!! I am SOO confused about something. Alright, so all the partner schools require a common app. The common app essays are the same as the QB essays…do I just put the same thing in there? Or would that seem lazy? Would writing another essay be a better choice? Or is writing another essay what we are supposed to do??
THANK YOU (:

@ladyspeedstick
I am under the impression that the schools that require the common app. do so to avoid reading the questbridge application. The schools must have a certain application process that they don’t want to change so they require the common app. I am reusing my essays, and I have read that everyone does basically. I would only write a new one if you feel that you could improve an essay or topic.

@TheJavaDuke. QB will forward your application to all the schools you rank, but obviously the schools won’t make a decision without all the required information. The schools might contact you to give you a chance to send in the missing material. Don’t know whether it would be a disadvantage.

But why would you rank schools for the match that you are not interested in matching? If you are a finalist but not matched you will get a chance to list up to 15 schools that you want QB to send your application to be considered for regular decision. That list is due Dec. 15th, after matches are announced.
