QuestBridge National College Match 2012-2013

@GA2012MOM Thank you. I truly appreciate it and thank you for being very informative about about this process. Also, there is an LAC that calls recipients the night before? I ranked four LACs: Carleton, Pomona, Oberlin, and Grinnell. That’s awesome and all of the LACs I ranked are in time zones earlier than mine. So, IF one of them did match me, then I should be getting the call soon. Though, I know it’s not Carleton since it just joined this year.

To all finalists, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors (whether you get matched or not). Some of us may even meet each other one day on campus or at Quest Scholar events. Also, do not forget to email QuestBridge and thank them for everything even if you aren’t matched. They chose to give us lower-income kids a shot at these phenomenal universities, so, it is our duty to thank them. Last but not least, good luck to all of you!!

I’m hoping everyone gets good news tomorrow!

You’ve probably heard the speech a dozen times or more, but QB isn’t the end of the road! Keep your chin up even if you aren’t matched. Just being a finalist means you have great potential. Get some sleep tonight––all of our fates have been decided by now so there’s no use worrying!

I’ll be crossing my fingers all day tomorrow haha ;)

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this is all i have thought about for a month

I can’t even take my mind off QuestBridge anymore…

@utauing same here. I’m getting impatient lol. This is more intense than the anticipation for an SAT score =D

@Swagga: Last year Pomona really took a huge number, both through the match and RD. And it isn’t a college, it is a freakin’ country club. ! It is probably the one school my daughter wishes she had ranked, but didn’t because of the geographic distance.

Do they usually call you on your cellphone on your home phone? My home phone hasn’t been functioning for the past month, and all calls just get re-directed to voicemail.

I’ve made a decision that today, I’ll answer every phone call I get, without even looking at the caller id. I do apologize in advance for screaming at the poor telemarketer who calls me.

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. It would be truly a miracle if I got matched. I don’t think I will so I’m not too nervous but still. Aah! T-minus 10 hours! Yesterday I got contacted to do a college interview for Princeton next week so that is good news if I get bad news later today. Match…match…match! Come on Questbridge.

RE: the question yesterday about the match being the same as regular FA - this is true of the non-binding schools (Princeton and MIT were mentioned). The reason they are not binding is because they don’t guarantee the four-year full-ride scholarship, just their regular FA. General consensus seems to be that for most QB Scholars the difference is negligible.

@sweetie My thoughts exactly. I’m so nervous because I feel like anything could happen, but at the same time, I think a lot more people are qualified than me.

I just need today to be over.

ugh, today is going by so slowly. :/

Has anyone received a notification yet?

No one I personally know; however, a QB matchee from last year announced on the Finalist FB group that his friend was matched to Tufts and received a phone call from them.

Be on a lookout now.

Holy cow. I can not.

Not matched. :frowning: good luck everyone!

Good luck, all!

Not a match :frowning:
On to RD for me!

Didn’t match :/. Time for regular decision.

Wait how do you guys know you weren’t matched. Have decisions been released. I haven’t received any phone call or email. Aah!

i got into wes<3 the only school i ranked! and my best friend got into uchicago!
