QuestBridge National College Match 2012-2013

EndoftheWorld, I dont think Olipond was referrring to the academics at Pomona at all! I think she/he was talking about the overall school, of course everybody knows that Pomona is top notch! I’m sure Olipond will weigh in on this soon.

@endof the world:

I meant that y’all do so many fun things there, so many trips, activities etc. The cool factor is pretty high. We didn’t apply because of the geographic distance, but it is probably the one school I wish we had considered. Not to mention it is so beautiful. As far as Pomona though, I did have one concern, and that is how you fare there if you do not have a car.

I’m having too much excitement and energy over my Match. At school, I can’t seem to stop telling people about my Match. I think I am starting to tell too much people and thus sound like I’m bragging about my Match. Ugh.

I don’t have the problem with telling people, because most of my school knows from my best friend shouting CONNECTICUT for about two days after I got it.
But I understand about the excitement, my roommate has begun to just zone out when I talk about how pictures o the campus are beautiful, the classes sound wonderful, etc. I’m also terribly nervous, so it’s pretty constantly on my mind, even with my finals starting in a couple days.

I desperately need to find an outlet because I think my friends might kill me before I get there.

Hey, so did anyone who ranked Haverford get a ‘special’ sounding email? I immediately forwarded my app to ED, but the email I got was the generic ‘thanks for your interest, you can forward your app, have fun with life’ type thing. Also, OH MY GOSH, HAVERFORD MATCHES EXIST! Like seriously, I have yet to see anyone on the facebook group even utter Haverford, let alone attend the amazing, lovely, wonderful, best place ever…;

lawlz, so obvious who that is without even a hint in the username or anything. xDDD^

Endoftheworld,

Gah. Now you’re making me anxious with all this talk about intensely difficult academics. Eeek.

You took a screen shot and everything! But seriously, I’m super terrified that I’m gonna get rejected for the third and final time from the most beautifully amazing school in the world…;

Hey all, I was a QuestBridge finalist (but, unfortunately, did not get Matched). Just stopping by to ask if anybody else received a “special” (or is it?) e-mail from Carleton College? (Which, by the way, I did not rank for the Match.)

“We noted your participation in QuestBridge this year and would like to invite you to seriously consider Carleton as a destination for your college study. We’ve been impressed with the many qualified candidates that QuestBridge has generated this year (our first as a partner with the QuestBridge program), and want to encourage you to consider applying to Carleton College with your QuestBridge application.”

Or maybe I’m just being earnest here and misconstruing the one small “seriously” thrown in the e-mail as something else? (I probably am, hahaha.) It’s just that so far I haven’t received any e-mails from the QB schools that sound nearly as interested in me as Carleton does…

For Match students who got matched according to the application portal, but did not get an email or phone call from ANYONE, how should we awkwardly confirm our Match status?

@blair961 Check your spam folder, AND, shoot an email to QB. That is odd. Where were you matched? Some schools have special QB liaisons listed on the school match application page, if so, I would send an email there as well.

@mailinglist: Haverford accepts a huge amount (last year 50%) E.D., so I would say the odds are in your favor.

I also did not get any emails or phonecalls even though I was matched according to the QB application status. I was matched to Davidson

I have yet to formally withdraw my UC apps out of fear that something crazy might happen and change my acceptance to Pomona. I’m so anxious.

@countrygal, have you received an email or a phone call from Pomona?

Yes. I recieved a call from a woman from Questbridge last friday, which I missed due to class, and an email from the Associate Dean of Admissions, Art Rodriquez. I was told a financial aid packet and some other papers would be coming in a “few days.” I think I’m being incredibly paranoid due to the lack of my packet…I just have no idea when it should come.

congrats!
well I have been accepted according to the QB site, but I don’t know…
no phone calls, no emails, nothing yet.

anxiousss

if I haven’t been contacted by an interviewer yet, does that most likely mean that I will not get one?

@countrygirl: We went through the same thing last year. Until that packet arrived…but it will, so take a breath and enjoy the rest of your senior year.

@crispmonk: Davidson is one of the new QB schools, and this might explain things. They are a small enough place that I do not think it would be a problem if you called them to confirm. Next year, as a QB scholar, you can make sure the process is a bit smoother! By the way, I hope you enjoy NCAA basketball! (If you don’t, you will learn to love it!) By the way, people from Trinity have also not heard anything-so do not panic.

My daughter did not receive anything either. The letter stated that she should receive an email this week.

Did anyone else get an email from Notre Dame today inviting them to forward the QB app to EA?
