Does anyone else think I am aiming too high.

I don't know collegehopeful78, that's what I am asking

and no you are not aiming too high. Qbridge evaluate on sooo much more thatn just academics

Okay, when were we supposed to fax in the 2006 tax form? It's not even on the checklist. If it were, I'd have sent it in already.

murkywater, yeah. You are right about that. I think that if we were definately supposed to fax the tax form, it'd be in bold letters on the app page. Also, it says that if you're a finalist, you have to fax 2006 Tax returns (atleast for Wellesley). So why would we need to fax the Tax returns two times? Did anyone call QB about this?

Collegehopeful, please don't think you're aiming high. I mean my SATs really are mediocre and don't reflect well on my part. It really makes me look stupid. But just know that even if other people may not know it, that you're worth so much more than numbers. I know that about myself and just think, "I'll show them when I succeed in life that ACTs are worth nothing in life." Just try your best and don't let anything make you feel something is impossible. For me, i've decided to apply to QB because I believed they would look at me for who I am and not for my SAT scores. I know I have incredible ability to succeed in many things that the SAT tests can never measure and that i'm a great person as i'm sure you are. Hopefully QB will look on us favorably. But don't worry! I'm on your side too.

Sorry for the rant, I just felt like I could relate to you...

I called Questbridge today about the tax returns. They said we do NOT fax our tax returns to them.

Thanks, bondgirl. I was pretty sure they wouldn't leave such a vital part of the application off the checklist on the front page!

How do we fax our September ACT scores through Questbridge?
By using the Guidance Counselor cover sheet?

Ithink so, can some one please contact QB and tell us how for sure?

ok thanks guys. i guess the guy from my school was just not following instructions!

well good luck everyone! :)

bump Bump it up!

So, to bump this thread, let's chat a little. What are your top schools and what do you think made your application different? (for starters?)

For me, Wellesley is the only one I asked to be matched to since it's my favorite school. I think for my app, my essays really helped me to expose my most inner personality. I think i'm pretty hard to understand but those essays really brought me out there. Hope QB sees these qualities...also, i've done some impressive stuff with the Anti-Defamation League so that probably makes me unique.

I listed 8 schools, because I'd be happy at almost any of the QB schools (especially with a full ride), and my top four or so schools are all QB!

1) UChicago
2) Swarthmore
3) Stanford
4) Oberlin
5) Vassar
6) Columbia
7) Amherst
8) Emory

I think (hope) my application is unique because I was homeschooled in a very non-traditional way my whole life. My first organized schooling was in sixth grade, and it was just math. My mom just got library books and left them out for me to find and read. Because of that, I never lost my love of learning, and it worked well for me. I'm a National Merit Semifinalist and have a pretty impressive high school career.

Plus my parents work in the ministry, so we're pretty low-income and have some weird circumstances. I'm white though, and my parents both went to college, so we'll see.

My schools were

1) Stanford
2) Princeton
3) Yale
4) Columbia
5) Chicago

Lots of stuff make me different i hope!

Wow PoeticExplosion! That is quite impressive that you did so well despite the fact that you were homeschooled. You really must have some drive. Sheed30, you have a great list right there. Yeah, i'm sure there are certain things that will make you stand out above the others. Let's hope that QB sees this within us!! anyone else?

Yale

Stanford

I couldn't put Princeton unforutntley since I still need to finish up SAT 2's. Ill apply during RD though. And probably Columbia RD too.

Princeton

Yale

UChicago

Stanford

I'm hoping I'm unique enough... we'll see come November.

Btw, we can do QB AND EA for another (non-QB) school right? It's not SCEA for the other school so that shouldn't be a problem but was hoping QB didn't restrict that...

I'm pretty sure that's fine, but check the website. I'm pretty sure that's in the FAQs.

S choices were:

Amherst
Stanford
Emory
Rice
Princeton
Yale
Swarthmore

Can someone please explain to me how the matching process works?
http://www.questbridge.org/students/process.html#Regular -it says that "QuestBridge matches students with the highest ranked college on their list that has also selected them.
When a match is made between a finalist and a college, the agreement is binding."

http://www.questbridge.org/cmp/how_it_works.html -But here it says: colleges send the the final student ranking to QB and then QB runs algorithms to determine a match.

So would the school highest on the list that accepts us be the match, or is it the school that QB decides after running its programs with consideration to our rankings of the schools and the schools ranking of us?

the school highest on the list that accepts us is the match if you're a finalist
