if i were to accept my admissions offer would the $800 deposit have to be made right away? or is it just anytime between now and jan. 15 that it must be sent?

It’s the $500 dollar deposit. The $300 housing deposit will be due later.
And if you do it online, then yes it has to be sent right away. I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do if you reply by mail.

oh okay i was going to accept the admissions offer today but when i went do so it said this twice:

fall 2011 - college of arts and science - new freshmen - accept/decline
fall 2011 - college of arts and science - new freshmen - accept/decline

so i don’t know why there are two. i don’t want to end up clicking the wrong one

Wow, NYU really has made this process more complicated than necessary.

Apparently, there is a double link, both stating the same thing (as mindfreak indicated^).
When you click on ACCEPT, then you are asked to submit the $500 tuition deposit. They have made a policy change this year. Instead of sending in $300 housing deposit with the tuition deposit, you only have to send in $500 for tuition deposit as a FIRST STEP. They tell you to expect separate notification from Housing for the housing deposit fee later.

This is what I have been able to glean after reading the accepted students’ posts here.

GL. Short answer. I think you can click on one link and that will lead you to the next step (tuition deposit payment).

Either link works. Once you pay the deposit, the other link disappears.
