question about applying

hello, i am thinking about adding mcgill to my list of schools to apply to

i would apply to the arts & sciences program (or whatever it is called) and it says that either the act is needed or the sat and 2 sat subject tests (one of which has to be math) is needed.

i have taken the sat and 2 subject tests (but none math) and the act

SO my question is...is it worth it to take the math subject test in order to be able to submit my SAT score (which i feel is definitely strong enough to get me in) or would i be okay just submitting my ACT score? do they see the breakdown of the sections for the ACT, or just the overall score?

btw, my SAT score is a 2240 and my ACT score is a 28 (with a 23 on science...yikes)

i just took the act on a whim, so i wouldn't consider taking it again.

also, my subject test scores are 700 and 680 for literature and world history.....even though i would only send in the 700 along with my math subject test score if i decide to do that

ANYWAYS....should i bother taking the math subject test? or is my ACT score too low to get in?

Just for clarity (in case others read the previous post): SAT or ACT scores are only required of some students (mostly Americans).

The top 75% of admitted students to McGill have ACT’s of 29 or higher, so 25% got admitted with scores under 29. Your 28 will not automatically get you rejected.

If you choose to do more testing, I would suggest redoing your ACT rather than doing a Math Subject SAT, unless you consider yourself quite good at math. Even the SAT Math 1 generally requires more subject-specific knowledge than anything on the ACT. Your ACT science subscore may be an aberration. On the other hand, if you had excellent math subscores on the ACT and SAT, then by all means, do the SAT Math Subject test.

Your SAT of 2240 should correspond to an ACT of 32 or 33, which is scholarship material! So I’d send your SAT in, take the SAT math…
