Ok. This may seem a little dumb. But i really don't know how to view my bar account. And btw what's the difference between the bar account and the bruin bill?
Please help me out!

Also, are we required to have Bruin Direct? Does it cost us money?

Sorry, I’m as lost as you are =X

@Milkytrace - from myucla home page: left side option under “academic” choose “enrollment URSA” -> URSA site: under “financial” heading choose “BruinBill accounts”

I believe the Bruinbill account is the newly redesigned BAR account…that is, the Bruinbill replaced the older BAR account, but both document your various fees and allow you to pay for them online. Correct me if I am wrong…

@bbqsauce -No, signing up for Bruindirect is free and not required for students. However, it’s a much easier and paperless option if students receive financial aid refund disbursements from their BAR/Bruinbill accounts. Instead of waiting a couple days or even a week for a paper check w/ their refund to pay for other fees/housing, w/ Bruindirect the money will be directly transferred to the student’s bank account on the same day.

Thx. That’s what I guessed. One more question. I’ve signed up for orientation.but when I view my account I don’t see any fee I need to pay. So when is the orientation fee due and when will it appear on the bruin bill?

Here’s straight from the UCLA orientation site:
"Your Orientation session fees will be billed to you on your November 2011 UCLA Billing Statement. There is no payment necessary when you sign-up. Payments will be only accepted through the UCLA Billing Statement. Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) fee of $100 does not cover Orientation fees.

Failure to pay your Orientation fees by the billing deadlines will result in a $20 per month Student Accounting late charge and may result in a hold on your records."
