My son applied early and got the interview within a month. I believe he had his UT acceptance, but he is top 10%, so he wasn't paying attention to that part.

My son also applied early and had his interview pretty quickly. Still no word! Anxiously checking the mail every day!

How did you get an interview if you didn't apply?
[/quote]
Very informal and it took place at my school. I don't like business, so we just talked about other things. :(

That sounds really strange, because we were told that all BHP interviews were done by phone. Maybe it was a school visit with an admissions rep.

Hello everyone!

I am the BHP Recruiter, and would like to offer myself as a resource to ant questions you all might have. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions at simon.haidamous@bba04.mccombs.utexas.edu.

Hey Simon are you going to be at the sophomore BHP transfer meeting on Monday?

I will be there giving the presentation with a few members of our staff.

Hey all, still no word. Still hoping!

Just wanted to let ya'll know, I took Simon up on his offer to talk about BHP - Thanks, Simon! You were very nice to talk to me.

He confirmed that the BHP admissions people look at the "total" applicant, ie. grades, scores, ec's, community service, essays, and leadership in your ec's. He said there is an emphasis on leadership, as that is what they are looking for in the members of the program. He also said that all of the applications are read in their entirety. It sounded like a very comprehensive method and I appreciate their thoroughness.

Now, back to crossing my fingers.

I just had my interview on Tuesday. Last for about 20 minutes which kind of bothered me (i thought it was short because my other interviews lasted 45mins-1 hr) I'm hoping for the best, but after reading some of the rejections I'm a little worried:

1 out of 355
Student Council pres
Above average EC
national hispanic scholar
1330/1940 SAT (low, i know)
Spent 1 week at UT w/busines program
Attended BHP weekend siminar

I guess #1 rank doesn't mean a automatic acceptance because some people didn't get in. Well, again, I'm hoping for the best.

And, congrats to everyone that got accepted already!

Update: I got my acceptance letter today!

Good luck to everyeone else!

Congrats oxymoron!

Congrats!
My friend got an interview two days ago to everyone who wants to know, so maybe they're still giving them out.

Eh, I was denied, 1480 M/V with a good gpa but school does not rank (though with a small class size of 70ish I am 10% but on the outskirts? 5-7 I believe). I never got an interview, so I'm sure that was not a good sign. :(

who else is still waiting on decisions? it should be only a week till i find out.

My s got his very politely worded NO yesterday, but he was expecting it, so it's all good.

He is just so excited to be going to UT next year!!

ag54- did you son have an interview? when did he have it?

Yes, his interview was a long time ago, I really can't remember now. He got a deferral letter, saying that they were going to relook at his application after they got all the others in. I guess he just didn't make the cut!

BHP is getting extremely competitive nowadays. :(.

I agree. I really hope I get in as a sophomore, already finished the essay for it.

just got rejected from bhp :(
