Question about blackboard

This may be a stupid question, but if let’s say you got extra points on an exam like for example 105/100.
Do you get 5 extra points added to your overall total? Most professors(if they offer extra credit) would have a separate column for extra credit on blackboard. So I feel paranoid that it wouldn’t count if it was outside of this column.

I found this on the internet

“The best way to add an extra credit assignment which not all students may complete would be to add a column in your Blackboard Grade Center and assign the score of 0 points to it. The added Extra Credit column then manually needs to be added to the Total. By default, the Grade Center excludes from the Total any column that is set to be worth 0 points.”

It kind of sounds like you must add an extra credit column for it to count.

Doesn’t matter which way they do it both will work.

You’ll get the extra points regardless, but it depends on your professor’s policy about where the extra credit comes from and goes to. IME, usually if you do an extra assignment, it’ll be added to your overall total grade, but if you complete bonus questions on a test, it’ll just be added to your test total.

You could ask the faculty person.
