Hey everyone.
So I’ll be going to UC Davis for Civil Engineering, and was wondering about some textbooks for the classes that I’ll be taking, since I’m trying to get a used copy before they all sell out.

The classes that I’ll be taking (freshman year) are
-Math 21B
-Math 21C
-Math 21D

-Chem 2A
-Chem 2B
-Physics 9A

-Civil Eng 3
-Com Sci Eng 30
-Comm 1

-Some GEs

So can anyone tell me which textbooks I’ll need for next year? Thank you in advance~

i always like to email my profs and ask, bc the text is not always needed
or you can go back thru old course webpages and maybe see what texts they used the last quarter.

for calc (21A-D):Thomas Calculus Transcendentals 11th edition
chem(2a-c):General Chemistry Principles and Modern Applications
physics(9a-9b):University Physics Volume 1, 2nd edition (UCD version)

youll usually find out when they post the syllabus. or if they dont you can email ahead of time to buy/rent elsewhere.

You can look on SmartSite if your teacher will use that. Or you can visit the UC Davis bookstore. Look for the class you’re taking, which teacher, which section number, etc. And you can write down the ISBN and buy it online.
