I am applying to Brown summer school this year and what they ask for in order to complete your application is your high school transcript, your current report card, a teachers recommendation, and a basic application. Are grades really important? Because I have a 3.7 and my current report card looks like this:

Honors Math: A
Honors French: A
Honors English: A
Honors Chem: B ----------------- AHHHHH!
Advanced Orchestra: A

I really want to attend the summer school, but I feel that there will be students with higher grades than me applying. My final question is:

What are my chances of getting in with these stats? I am hoping on getting a very good recommendation, and I am applying really early.

yeah, summer school isn't super selective. Just make sure you apply early, since that was why most people didn't get their first choices last year.

I've done Summer@Brown and had a great time. This question came up a few days ago and I typed a pretty lengthy post about my experience at Brown. In case you're interested:
