My dad is a disabled veteran (10% disabled). He is not American, but he gets a monthly award amount and qualifies for service-connected benefits from the VA. One of the benefits is tuition assistance for dependents. I'm his son and it would be nice to get the tuition waived. Has anyone here applied for it before? Is there an income ceiling or anything?

You fill out this form and submit it with required documents to local Cal Vet office. The income restriction if based on what the STUDENT earned. If you call the local Cal Vet office, they can answer your questions. Two of my sons used this to pay for their tuition/fees at Cal State schools, but it has been a couple of years- so call the Cal Vet office and the Financial Aid office at the school you will be attending to see what it will cover. It was a very easy process, but apply early because it takes a while for the process.
