Question about classes for CSOM student?

Hi, I was recently accepted into the CSOM at BC. I was looking at the core curriculum (and curriculum for CSOM students: [Curriculum - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/content/bc/schools/csom/undergraduate/academics/core.html#Carroll%20School%20Curriculum)). I just have a few questions regarding classes.

I only took 3 years of foreign language in HS, so I need to take another. Do I have to take it freshman year or can it wait until sophomore year (I’m probably going to do freshman year for a new language, but this is out of curiosity)?

Can any CSOM student give what their course load looked like their freshman year?

For CSOM students: How did you like your classes (the non business core ones)?

If you have up to the level 4, i.e. Spanish IV, of a language, you won’t have to ever take language again. If you do only have up to level 3, then you can take it whenever I’m pretty sure. Most people do get it out of the way freshman year.

You will be in Portico for the fall semester, every freshman CSOM student is. Most also take Computers in Management (half the class is learning Excel, the other half learning about Information Systems), statistics, calc, and some students squeeze in Business Law or Financial Accounting. Those are pretty standard freshman year CSOM classes, plus whatever university core you decide to take. For example, my first semester was: Portico, Stat, Perspectives (counts as two classes), First Year Writing. Of course, things change with the addition of AP/IB credit, etc.

I enjoyed most of my classes, both in and out of CSOM, but definitely preferred the CSOM classes. Answers for how people liked their classes will vary depending on class and professor. For a lot of the university core requirements there are several different classes that will fulfill the same requirement.
