Question about Classes

To all Stanford students: How many of your classes are taught by graduate students instead of professors?

None. Discussion sections and office hours are often led by grad students, however.

I completed 3 degrees at Stanford. During that time I only recall taking one non-lab class that was taught by a grad student. In many cases, introductory classes were taught by some of the most well known professors within the field at the university. They did not just support research and grad level classes. For example, I had an intro bio class taught by Robert Sapolsky. This was even true with some athletic classes. I took a conditioning class that was taught by the cross country coach. Sections were a different story and were almost always run by grad students. In the larger classes, I’d often speak with grad students in sections more than the professor.
