So I got back a test the other day and got a 98%. This is obviously a good grade, the class average was 84%, but I literally lost 2 marks because I somehow managed to write down 125 instead of 625 as the square of 25 and ended up computing the problem wrong. I literally feel like pulling my hair out for making such a stupid mistake, and even though I got a 98, the fact that I missed 100% because of making a mistake that a 5th grader wouldnt make, I cant stop beating myself up about it.

sigh, making careless mistakes on exams make me go crazy, am I the only one?

You got a 98% on a test, better than average and almost a perfect score.

Just… don’t.

Nope, one of my former housemates gets that way too. Back when she took O-Chem, she freaked out because there was a mechanism problem she didn’t really study (she just briefly glanced at it) because her professor said it wasn’t really that important and that it wouldn’t be on the midterm (but lo and behold, it was). She still ended up with an A on that midterm, but she berated herself for that one problem. She did the same thing for her Reproductive Physiology class last quarter. She really, really, really wants to get into vet school (which is extremely competitive), so she takes her grades extremely seriously.

Wow, dude. That’s a REALLY stupid mistake. Like, how stupid do you have to be to write down 125 as the square of 25? Like, where did that even come from? That’s not even the square of 5. That’s 25x5. Clearly only an individual with a ruptured cortex could think of that. It’s people like you that make me feel unchallenged in college because you’re always fing up and keeping the rest of us NORMAL students behind with your stupidity.

Do me a favor and repeat middle school.

^assuming this is sarcasm, because you sound like an a-hole

@mystic You must be new around here.

rolls eyes

I understand. I made an 88% on a test but I should have made a 98%. Just dumb mistakes. It’s not a big deal, but it is so frustrating.

Hey, we will all fail a test in college. It is a growing experience.
And 98% is nowhere near failing. I would love to get a 98% in a couple of my classes (I average about a 94%)
