Question about college

Rn im a high school senior, but im having a tough choice. So the school i wanna go to, “UCI” did not accept me, I got accepted to others such as CalState Long beach and waitlisted at UCR. My parents that I go community college, but problem is I dont rrly like community college, Last time I visited there, got me so bummed. And the fact that its going to take me 2 years to transfer even more sad. Is there any way to transfer in 1 year?

There are 1 year transfers to Cal states and UC’s but many have a lot of AP/IB or dual enrollment credit which can be used toward their GE’s and major prep courses needed for transfer.

UC’s and CSU’s require a minimum 60 semester/90 quarter units to transfer. You need to complete all required GE and major prep classes Spring Semester/Quarter prior to transferring.

If you want to transfer in 1 year, then you may only have 1-2 semester’s worth of CC grades and they would need to be very competitive to get into many of these schools. If you are leaning towards a 1 year transfer, then you need to start this summer on taking the courses so you have some CC grades under your belt when you apply this fall.

What is your intended major? Have you taken any AP/IB or DE courses?

Which school(s) would you target as a transfer?

Cal state Long Beach is one of the top CSU’s and you will get a very good education if you attend. Remember where you go for Undergrad will not define, it is what you do with the opportunities you are given that will make you successful.
