I'm retaking the SATs on Jan. 23rd, will colleges still consider my new SAT score, or would it just be a waste of time.

You should call or email admissions at some of the schools and see what they say. I know that some schools will take whatever your current scores are, but if you send them new scores they will also consider those.

If you take the test on Jan 23, College board won’t send the scores out until Feb 11 at the earliest. I believe they say it can take up to 2 weeks if you submit them electronically, but it would take much less time if you paid for the expedited delivery.

It’s cutting it close, but if the colleges say they would take them, then it’s fine… Just make sure you ask them.

I see… Are the colleges generally in consensus about how they deal with these things, or do I need to email each of the colleges I’m applying to individually? Because I’m applying to over 10…

I would email all of them just to be safe… You could probably write the same thing in each email or just write one and BCC all of the schools. You just should make sure that they’re actually going to look at the score before you bother to spend the money to send it.

It looks like most of the schools I’m applying to actually state on their websites that they accept or consider scores from the January testing.

Would it be wise to send them an email to give them a heads up anyways?
