Question about Declining Offer?

hello, I made up my decision of which school to attend and I already made a deposit to that school. Am I suppose to withdraw my apps from other schools if they have a button on their portal site? or do i write a letter? I already withdrew my app from one school but I wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do so i wanted to make sure before i do the rest.

thanks

Anna

Anna, you should tell the other colleges that you won’t be attending. If you can do that from your portal at the colleges’ web sites, that’s fine. Often, colleges put a response card in your admissions packet. If they did, you can mail that back. If neither of those is possible, you can send either email or U.S. Mail to the admissions offices of colleges that admitted you, but you won’t be attending.

There is no benefit to you in waiting to tell them, but there could be some benefit to wait-listed students at those institutions if you decline as soon as you’ve made up your mind.

^^ correct. It is courtesy to rescind your offer of admissions to open up spots for other wait listed students. Congrats on your next step.
