I actually don't think drinking is evil, I think children who drink are pathetic. Trying to be "cool," are we?

And I'll be a junior.

what is the point of this thread!? Why are you guys arguing with people you dont know?! If you don't like what someone is saying, ignore it! This isn't real life people, its the internet!

Drunken frat boys......NYU? Nope! None of that, so we're set!

Wow this entire conversation just amused me beyond belief.

"Drunken frat boys......NYU? Nope!"

Well you're right about the frat boy part since the Greek scene is very small, but the drunken part I can assure you off, haha. The NYU area bars basically make the frats useless.

lol @ petty drama

im a really relaxed kind of guy...can i deal with petty drama? yes. is it annoying? yes. LOL.

So... for those of you already in college: Would you associate the "Freshman 15" to excessive drinking, lack of exercise, or too much junk food? Hehe, I'm just curious.

i dont know anyone who even gained weight at nyu....so much walking.

sydney ann, i usually find that the people who are absolutely anti alcohol coincidentally tend to be bitter, anti-social recluses who are arrogant and think they have an enlightened romanticized view of the world... holla.

stonecold, I don't think that's true, but from my experiences that has been the case. I really don't think drinking is bad. Many of my friends are responsible drinkers and most of them are in the 17, 18 range. sydneyann do you have anything against just cc pple in general? I've seen your other posts and they've all been critical or negative.

im not saying that people who dont drink are necesarily like that,

but rather the people who are staunch ANTI-alcohol people who openly express their disdain towards people who choose too

JLin - I think it's a combo! Its drinking tons of beer, then coming home from a frat party at 3 am and eating nasty pizza hut or some cheap delivery pizza and going to bed!!! Now at NYU, you don't have to deal with the frat parties or the delivery part. In nyc its coming from a bar and stopping at one of the million pizza places open like all night around WSP.

Now I have no personal experience, but I remember my sister talking about all the ppl getting fat were the ones who were drinking. She used to talk about how her freshman year if she was hungry and didnt have anything really appetizing in her dorm, she just wouldn't eat, cuz it was too far to walk to the nearest dining hall! (she is a 4th year at The University of Virginia, so if some of you are wondering why this doesn't sound like NYU, thats why)

Wow- this thread is pretty amazing
3 pages just on drinking
i can see that we have our priorities straight! :)
No worries people- if you don't want to drink, then don't
if you do, go ahead
relax-- this drinking thing has gotten way too tense
for those of you who don't drink- it's not like drinking is a big deal, but you would definitely miss out on a lot of the fun
if we all get in- we should go clubbing/drinking together

I'm 18 and I've been drinking since I was 12. I don't see a problem. lol

i see, my apologies stonecold
