Sorry if this is the wrong section, but currently I am taking some dual-enrollment classes at my high school, which means I take the class at my high school and then get college credit for them. I have the opportunity to get some credits for my Health Science Class and Math class, but the thing is, i have high B’s in them and am unsure if it is worth it to sign up for the college credit. I think the credits are about 10 dollars each, so the money is not what i am worried about, but I am just wondering if going into college with these B’s is a bad idea, or if i am overreacting over the “B”.
TLDR: Do I sign up for college credit with B’s in my dual enrollment classes ?
If you are planning on med or law school in the future, I would advise not doing DE.
If you are planning to go to a state school (but not med school), then it is absolutely worth it. You are highly likely to get credit, even for Bs. However, as @momofsenior1 mentioned, you don’t want those Bs on your application to med school, and they will be if you take them as DE classes.
Thank you both @momofsenior1 and @Groundwork2022 , i am planning on attending an out of State School, (SDSU) but i do not plan on doing law or medical school as I am a business major. So as a business finance major, should I do the dual credit enrollment? Also, what are the chances that the credits will transfer out of state?
Whether the courses will be accepted for (useful) transfer credit depends on what they are.
Keep syllabus and course materials if you want to be able to use them for subject credit or placement into higher level courses.
As a business major, yes, I would do the DE.
Different colleges have different policies on accepting DE credits. State schools in general are more likely to accept them.
A Health Science class most likely would not be transferable for SDSU. Depending upon what kind of Math class, this could be transferable. Are you using these classes to fulfill some the Cal state a-g required courses?
