question about early action deferral

does this really hurt my chances of getting in for regular decision?
i got deferred from early action, like most of everyone at my school. i only know of 2 people who got into jmu from my hs for early action

according to their website, under FAQs (or something like it), deferral from EA doesn't affect an applicant's chance at being accepted during the RD selection process. Good luck!

Does anyone know when we will be notified of admissions? Do we really have to wait until April 1st?

probably
thanks for the reply

We got an email last Monday, 3/14, that said the letters would go in the mail in 7 days (didn't indicate business days or calendar days).

Was that e-mail in response to one you sent to JMU earlier? Because I never received such an e-mail.

i didnt get one of those either..

I generated the first email about another subject. It was a response to my email. Very informal. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

phew! thanks for clearing that up.

Got a phone call last night informing of acceptance. Packets to go out next week.

they're not sent out until NEXT week?! AAAHHH! I don't think I can take it any longer!

And what's this, a phone call?! Does that mean if you didn't get one you were rejected? We're you accepted into their honors program or something? I don't even know if I provided them with a phone number...

I wanna know to. Why did they call you to let you know that you were accepted? Were you in accepted into an honors program? Does JMU even have an honor program?

i got a call two nights ago too...it was an alumni from my high school who now attends JMU...i wasnt home my mom took the message that i was accepted.
