Pretty simple question: can I apply early decision II to more than one school, or can I only choose one school for ED2, and then the rest have to be under regular decision?

The latter.

Ahh, well that sucks.

How would a college know if you did ED2 to more than 1 school anyway o.o, has anybody ever tried pulling that one off?

Imagine if you got into both schools. You’d be in a fix.

ED 2 has the same restrictions as ED 1: you are promising to go to that school if admitted. You may apply only to one school ED 2 (and that’s only if you didn’t apply under or get into a school via ED 1). If accepted, you must withdraw your other applications.

If you decline an ED offer, somehow all colleges will find out (it’s a very close knit group of ppl those adcoms). Your hs is blacklisted, and you may also get the ther acceptance rescinded. Don’t do it!

Apply to one school ED II, the others RD (like the rest of us). If you get accepted to the ED, notify other schools immediately.

Like everyone else said, the same rules apply for ED I and ED II. I wouldn’t try to cheat the system, you’d regret it later.

And to your other question: I’ve seen someone who tried to apply ED to two schools, (Lehigh and Champlain College in Vermont I think) and he actually got accepted to both, tried to deny Champlain, and ended up being rejected for both, and his RD colleges were notified of this. He was forced to take a gap year. This was a bit of a severe case, but make of that what you will.

Can I apply one school for ED and another for ED2?

If you apply to a college or university ED I and you are deferred to RD or denied admission, then and only then may you apply ED II to only one college or university.

As others have noted, ED II has the same rules and requirements as ED I–including the requirement that you, your guidance counselor and your parents all sign the Early Decision agreement. Even if you and your parents were willing to sign falsely, there’s no way your guidance counselor would sign off on your applying to two colleges ED simultaneously. Your high school could be blacklisted for years to come.
