Apparently JHU said they do not have enough information to give me financial aid information. I sent in my fafsa and CSS profile already.

It said too look at ISIS ID but i dont think i could find it, so i emailed a request for the ID but havent heard back. I also called but all i got was some machine telling me that I should check ISIS if I have any questions.

Daniel or anybody else, could you please help me

you need to send in both yours and your parents W-2 forms from 2005 before you can get financial aid. it guarantees that the info you're providing is correct.

oh seriously...but they gave me a fin. aid offer (pretty much nothing) before I sent in the stuff...but said it was not final. Does that mean I will get a better offer when I sent in the stuff? I know I should be getting a lot.

JHU was one of my top choices, but my parents are concerned about the cost and may force me to attend another "affordable" school. I received 2 full scholarships, a half scholarship, and some other nice offers, but nothing at all from JHU. It is still my top chioce now, and my parents could swing most of the tuition with loans, but they need some help. I have to wait and see what my parents can come up with--did anyone get anything like 8-10,000 for merit? That's all we would need, and I could go. Any advice?

I really want to go here--I know it is the perfect place for me. My parents think that the $47,000 is not possible for us--although they have some equity in our house, they're not really sure they could even get a loan for $188,000, or if it's wise to do so. I really thought that I would receive some merit money--most of my teachers expected me to get something from JHU, as a female who has excelled in math and science. Don't want to whine...but I'm trying not to make my parents feel bad about it, so I'm not saying much to them. Does anyone know if I could appeal the finanacial award (or lack there of?)

i received a wonderful package from JHU, as soon as I send off my parent's tax forms, I'll be set. I pay nothing...at all. How great life is? I couldn't afford JHU if I didn't get that package and then I would be at good old Texas A&M University or University of Houston.

I was lucky enough to recieve a lot too... i think in part it was because I applied ED, and secondly, there was a mistake in my original package, so when my parents continually pushed for more, we got more.

Moral of the story: DON'T GIVE UP! Talk to anyone... keep calling... my dad called every morning for a week straight... went through everyone... my financial aid officer, my admissions officer, the Head of Financial aid... and eventually...they gave us 10k a year. sweet.

Sorry all but I work in Admissions. All Financial Aid questions need to be directed to their office. Call 410-516-8028 and ask to speak with your financial aid counselor. Every situation is different and you really need to have those individual conversations.
