If I got a merit award from BU but no need based aid, do I have to send my parent’s tax forms to BU?

When S applied to BU, we had to file the Profile and FAFSA in order to qualify for merit aid. In subsequent years, you do not have to file any forms for merit aid, just maintain the minimum GPA requirement.

Right. No need to send info if its a merit sholarship although one of them, Deans I believe, used to ask for a FAFSA. Check the BU web site or call so you are sure. Congrats. Which one did you get?

Thanks for all the help. I was a little worried because I definitely didn't want my scholarship revoked just for not sending in a couple of documents. btw, I got the University scholarship.

Congratulations on the merit aid. Might be prudent to go ahead and file a FAFSA anyway if there's any chance your circumstances could change -- the story I heard was a student who didn't file a FAFSA or apply for aid, then her dad lost his job, and the financial aid office at school couldn't/wouldn't help her at all because the feds require a FAFSA. Didn't make sense to me, but the source was impeccable.
